After only 5 days of talking, Calvin was eager to meet Kira and on a cold wintery night, he did just that! Pulling up in his Tesla to her Barrie apartment, she thought to herself 'what am I getting myself into, this guy drives a Tesla!". They spent the next few hours skating in circles at the Innisfil Town Square and enjoying some (new and exciting for Kira) food at Fish Bone. Man of many words, Calvin said all of 7 the whole night.... he's gotten in about 14 since!
Months go by and lots of mid/long distances drives later, Kira gets a new position at her company that will allow her to move back to her hometown, which happens to be the town adjacent to Calvin's. Ready to move out of his parents, he posed the idea of finding a place that they could call home together. Hesitantly but excitingly, Kira (and Miss Momo) agreed to Calvin's crazy idea.. turns out she's just as crazy as he is!
What was months of waiting, they finally moved into their cute little house in Newmarket. Kira quickly realized her life would be filled with lots of love and open cabinets. The house quickly became their home.
Later in July, Calvin convinced Kira to join him on his work trip to Calgary. In between work shifts, they made the most of their trip by visiting the Calgary Stampede and exploring beautiful Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Banff. A few days pass and Calvin tells Kira to not make a reservation for dinner that night because he had planned a picnic in the mountains. This was out of character for Calvin so Kira questioned who he was and what she had to wear, asking if heels were appropriate. They spent the next hour driving to this secret destination, Kira continuting to question what they were actually doing - Are we hiking? Taking a gondala? Venturing across a skybridge? Taking a boat?? As they arrived at Barrier Lake, a beautiful picnic was set up with all of Kira's favourite colours and treats. After seconds of admiring the view and set up, Kira turned around to find Calvin on one knee asking her to marry him. In the most beautiful place in the world, she said a few "omgs" and one "yes".
The rest is still unwritten...
